Inside the RE/MAX Diamond Event: A Brisbane Corporate Activation Case Study

Most corporate event activations in Brisbane fall into the same two categories. The branded photo booth no one queues for. The coffee cart everyone forgets by lunchtime. Both tick the box. Neither moves the needle.
When RE/MAX Australia briefed us for their Diamond Event at The Calile Hotel, Brisbane, the goal was different. They wanted an activation that matched the calibre of the room. A space full of the country's top-performing real estate operators is not a room you give a tote bag to.
This is how we approached it, what we built, and what corporate event organisers can take from it.
The brief: an activation worthy of a top-performer audience
The Diamond Event is RE/MAX Australia's gathering for their highest-performing agents. The kind of room where every guest is already accustomed to good hospitality, considered detail, and the polish that comes with operating at the top end of their market.
The brief was straightforward in its ambition:
- Create a centrepiece moment at the venue
- Give guests something to talk about, photograph, and remember
- Tie the experience back to the RE/MAX Diamond brand without resorting to logo wallpaper
The Calile Hotel did the heavy lifting on atmosphere. The activation needed to live up to it.

What we built: a custom perfume bar with 2,000+ possible combinations
We installed a fully branded fragrance bar in the venue, staffed by trained staff in branded attire. Each guest sat down at the bar, was guided through 24 base fragrances by a perfumer, and walked away with a custom perfume blended on the spot.
Twenty-four fragrances. Over 2,000 possible combinations. Every bottle leaving the room was, quite literally, the only one of its kind in existence.
The bar itself was dressed with custom RE/MAX Diamond Event signage, glass cloches, branded labels on every bottle, and a curated selection of bases laid out for guests to browse before sitting down. Custom RE/MAX Diamond perfume bottles were created so each guest left with something physically branded, useful, and entirely unique to them.
Setup, run sheet, perfumer staffing, and breakdown were all handled by the UNIQUE team. RE/MAX received a full hour-by-hour run sheet a month before the event so the activation slotted cleanly into the wider programme.

Why a perfume bar outperforms a standard event activation
There is a reason custom perfume bars are becoming a category of their own in corporate event activations across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The mechanics are different from anything else on the activation menu.
Dwell time. Most corporate activations get 30 seconds of guest attention. A custom perfume blend takes between two and five minutes per guest. That is two to five minutes of one-to-one engagement with your brand, in a seated environment, at the centre of your venue. No other activation format buys you that.
Memory anchor. Guests do not throw the product away. They wear it. Every time they reach for that bottle in the months after the event, they think of the room, the night, and the brand that hosted it. A swag bag does not do that. A photo booth print does not do that.
Conversation starter. A custom perfume bar is the kind of thing guests photograph, post, and bring up in the lift on the way out. The activation works as a centrepiece that pulls the room together, rather than a corner most people walk past.
Custom branding. Every bottle, label, and piece of bar signage was RE/MAX Diamond branded. Guests leave with something they will use, that carries the brand, and that already came with a story attached.
What this means for corporate event activations in Brisbane
Brisbane has become one of the strongest corporate event markets in the country. The Calile, W Brisbane, Howard Smith Wharves, and the city's growing roster of premium venues have raised the floor on what guests expect from a corporate experience.
The implication for organisers is simple. Activation choices that worked in 2018 do not land the same way in 2026. Audiences have seen the photo booth. They have seen the espresso martini cart. The activations that earn attention now are the ones that feel rare, considered, and tied to the specific guest in front of them.
A custom perfume bar fits that brief in a way very few formats can:
- It is a one-of-one product per guest, not a mass giveaway
- It is sensory and slow, not transactional
- It is photogenic without being staged
- It carries brand recall well past the night itself
For real estate brands specifically, the format works hard. The audience is already running their own businesses, attending their own events, and attuned to detail. A perfume bar speaks to that audience without trying too hard.

Activation results that matter for corporate organisers
Corporate event activations live or die on whether the organiser can defend the spend afterwards. The metrics that matter at this end of the market are not impressions or footfall counts. They are dwell time, lead quality (where relevant), brand recall, and the quality of guest feedback.
The RE/MAX Diamond Event delivered against all four:
- Two to five minutes of one-to-one engagement per guest at the bar
- Custom branded product in the hands of every attendee for ongoing brand recall
- Centrepiece status in a room of senior operators, not a side stall
- Zero operational lift for the RE/MAX events team, with UNIQUE handling end-to-end delivery
''For our Diamond Event, we wanted an experience that felt memorable and meaningful for our most important sales agents. It needed to be more than just something nice on the day. We wanted guests to take something away with them that would stay connected to the event. The perfume experience landed really well. Everyone engaged with the setup, created their own fragrance, and walked away with a personalised memento from the day. Because they made it themselves, it felt more personal than a standard event gift. From a business point of view, that was the real value. Every time they pull out that perfume, they’ll remember they made it at this event with us. It was highly engaging, got everyone talking, and gave people something different to take away. I’d recommend it to any company looking to add something memorable to their event.'' - Josh Davoren - Regional owner - Remax Australia
