Claire and Mitch's Wedding in the Hunter Valley
A country estate celebration brought to life with a custom perfume bar

Moravia Park is one of the Hunter Valley's most picturesque wedding locations. Wide open lawns, elegant garden paths, and a timeless country estate backdrop make it a venue that feels warm, romantic, and naturally beautiful. Claire and Mitch chose this setting for their wedding, and every detail of the day reflected their effortless, understated style, from the ceremony under the old fig tree to the fairy-lit reception.
We were invited to bring our custom perfume bar to their celebration, giving guests a hands-on experience that added something special to the evening. As the reception began and the golden hour light spilled across the grounds, guests gathered around the bar to explore a curated range of French-made fragrance oils. Each person created a personalised blend using up to three scents, then completed their bottle with a label featuring Claire and Mitch's names and wedding date.
The perfume bar quickly became a central part of the night, a place where guests lingered, laughed, and shared stories. The groom's father was one of the first to visit, initially claiming he was "just having a look." Twenty minutes later, he'd crafted a citrus and cedarwood blend and was enthusiastically explaining his choices to anyone who'd listen.
One bridesmaid recreated a scent that reminded her of a girls' trip she'd taken with the bride years ago. "Somewhere between sunscreen and bad decisions," she joked, though she was clearly moved by the memory. At the other end of the bar, a guest who'd flown in from overseas chose native Australian botanicals, wanting something that would remind her of the trip every time she wore it back home.
Couples designed matching scents, debating whether to go floral or woody until one pair compromised with "one of each." A group of the groom's mates turned it into a challenge, each trying to create something the others would actually want to wear. The winner, apparently, was a warm amber and vanilla blend, though there were accusations of bribery.
The bride's aunt spent a long moment smelling the jasmine oil, eventually telling us it was the same flower from her late mother's garden. She built her whole fragrance around it.
The experience was relaxed, interactive, and beautifully suited to the atmosphere of Moravia Park. Elegant without being stuffy, personal without being precious. Claire and Mitch wanted their guests to feel involved and cared for, and the perfume bar offered a keepsake that held real meaning. Every bottle left the reception as a lasting reminder of their wedding day.

We loved being part of such a warm and elegant celebration in the Hunter Valley. If you're planning a wedding at Moravia Park or anywhere in the region, our custom perfume bar is the perfect way to elevate the guest experience and create memories that linger long after the last dance.
